I feel the same way. I grew up in a mixed home (Jewish mom, lapsed Catholic dad) and to me, these just seem like ways to celebrate being alive and together.

To people asking what difference this will make since no one hunts penguins: The Endangered Species Act is also a powerful tool for protecting HABITAT. So the US government could potentially use this to keep US-based companies from engaging in industrial activities in the Southern Ocean that would hurt penguins.
