As others have said, an having a plan b would be handy. You can check on the MBTA site for alerts on that line prior to leaving for the train. That should give you some idea as to whether the train will be viable or not.

In addition to FB, maybe try r/bostonhousing too. July might not be as easy as Sept, but it won't necessarily be impossible.

TIL that there is major league rugby in the Boston area. This sounds pretty cool. I’m definitely going to check out a game. Thanks for sharing!

Makes sense. I was hesitant before as well. You can take your time and reach out to a few sitters to find one that best works for you.

The pricing can vary depending the service (someone to do home boarding, dog walks, etc.) as well as by how many pets you’ve got, if it’s a holiday, etc. I’ve got cats so it averages about $30 or so per visit.

I’ve been using Rover for pet sitting and I’ve had nothing but great experiences so far.

Looks like you can order that statement of negative marriage from https://www.vitalchek.com/vital-records/massachusetts/massachusetts-vital-records.
I got married in Ecuador and needed a similar doc. Mine is from another state since I was living elsewhere before going to Ecuador, but it’s similar. I also got my docs from Vital Check. They even got them apostilled for me, but I did have to call them directly for that. Not sure if Cuba requires apostille or not.

I lived in a Spanish speaking country and am married to a native Spanish speaker and yet I have only heard other white people in the US use the term ‘latinx’.
