Can you point to some specifics concerning this particular thing? IE, when the state has passed policies that make it so businesses have to develop in Boston instead of those other places?

I don't know what that has to do with development in Worcester or other cities, however. I also don't know how the state governs development in Boston but not in Worcester.

This just sounds like trying to make the mess that's in blue states equivalent to the mess that's in red states. I'll take the mess that's in Massachusetts compared to the mess that's in places like Idaho, where they're passing abortion trafficking bills.

Even in the places I don't want I still can't afford a home without it needing lots of work. Houses are just straight up 50% more expensive compared to pre-pandemic. My income certainly ain't up by that amount.

Nothing has shown that it's going to dry up. Still insane levels of demand even with the price + rate increases.

Looking at price history practically always sours me on buying a house. I love paying a 40% markup just because I'm buying now instead of a few years ago.

Prices went up 100k and then afterwards rates doubled and prices didn't move at all. Still just way too few available houses and way, way, way, way too many people that want to buy a house.

Blows me away to see the median house price went up by $100k+, up to $360k+, in dinky 'ol Leominster where the median household income was $63k in 2020. I know there's a commuter rail here to Boston so it's at least a bit more attractive, but that's probably a 1.5+ hour commute each way.
