Find a great logo in 1975 and settle on it forever? If so, I completely agree. So many great logos lost to meddling marketing dudes.

Most pro sports pay bonuses based on specific results per game or over the course of a season or for receiving specific awards.
Beyond bonuses (because I'm sure you're going to say that's not the same thing) it's less that they get paid for weekly results, and more that their weekly results ensure they stay hired and therefore paid. So their weekly results matter.

Pretty sure NASCAR is the only pro race series that does this. All others can end under caution like you were thinking.

I was providing the only info from the article available that explained how they got caught, which is that one member of the company that was at the center of the corruption charges did the above.
I know it's not a lot of info, I was just trying to save a click here.

That's the only info provided in the article, not a whole lot to gleam there other than he was acting suspicious and was on the radar of authorities (or got snitched on, who knows).

This is exactly it. Filmmakers love to put stuff in that they know, or enjoy, that they feel is evocative of the era but that doesn't mean it was popular.
Plus, using licensed music costs money so sometimes you have to go with something other than a top 40 hit for that time. All the moreso these days with the nightmare of music licensing regarding the Internet, streaming, etc.

Wasabi in Japan is often colored horseradish too. It's just way easier to get the real thing there.
