Seconding this - Mamoun's is always worth a stop, but it hits even better late.

Reply to Bars with good deals on good wings? by Pickles-In-Space
It's not a great deal compared to what things used to be like, but the Hop Knot in Portland has fantastic wings for what you pay - which is closer to the $1 per wing price point. That being said, there's a place by me in Hamden charging over $15 for a dozen, so it could be worse.
If you've been to a Hop Knot, don't get discouraged by the pretzel themed menu - they absorbed the White Dog Cafe and kept the wings from that menu because of how good they were.

I love Whitney Donut, but their drive through and parking lot are a nightmare.

Reply to comment by nkw1004 in CT has changed in the last decade. Here are 10 charts that show how. by NicoleMcIsaac
It's bad there, man. I don't mean necessarily that the kids are bad or anything like that, but I don't think I've ever been in a more bleak building in my life.
I briefly did some tutoring there in college and shadowed a couple teachers. It feels more like a prison than a school in almost all aspects of it.

I’ve done New Haven to Philly in under 3, but yours might be more impressive here.

Reply to Western Connecticut State University in 'crisis,' and must act urgently to address finances, falling enrollment, report states by IndicationOver
It’s a community college disguised as a 4 year school. That part of the state has nothing to entice people fresh out of high school - it’s a school you go to before you go to the school you really wanted.
It’s a weird thing to measure. Even the community colleges have issues with it - they gauge success based on the number of graduates. But largely, people aren’t going to these schools to graduate, they go because it’s cheap and they can get started there before leaving.

Okay, I thought this was just me and was talking to my therapist about how driving either at night or when it rains is more nerve wracking than ever.
Driving home from work when it rained last week felt absolutely terrifying. I never loved driving at night in the rain, but now it feels straight up like guessing where the road is.

Reply to comment by Amity83 in And What is the Deal with CT Drivers SPEEDING UP as you go around them...? by SnooPeripherals5518
It’s literally just the consistent speed that causes me to ever breach 80. I’d love to keep a solid 75. But the only way to get around people going 70 is by going 80, because they’ll start going 75 when you wanna pass.

Reply to Connecticut Students Show Steep Losses in Math and Reading, According Harvard Study by jr_reddit
I like that the studies show the steeper losses, but doesn’t compare scores themselves. Are we still at higher scores than other places, despite these losses?

I know a lot of people who used to drive up to Mohawk Mountain late - some solid star gazing that way.
