It's not a great deal compared to what things used to be like, but the Hop Knot in Portland has fantastic wings for what you pay - which is closer to the $1 per wing price point. That being said, there's a place by me in Hamden charging over $15 for a dozen, so it could be worse.

If you've been to a Hop Knot, don't get discouraged by the pretzel themed menu - they absorbed the White Dog Cafe and kept the wings from that menu because of how good they were.

It's bad there, man. I don't mean necessarily that the kids are bad or anything like that, but I don't think I've ever been in a more bleak building in my life.

I briefly did some tutoring there in college and shadowed a couple teachers. It feels more like a prison than a school in almost all aspects of it.

It’s a community college disguised as a 4 year school. That part of the state has nothing to entice people fresh out of high school - it’s a school you go to before you go to the school you really wanted.

It’s a weird thing to measure. Even the community colleges have issues with it - they gauge success based on the number of graduates. But largely, people aren’t going to these schools to graduate, they go because it’s cheap and they can get started there before leaving.

Okay, I thought this was just me and was talking to my therapist about how driving either at night or when it rains is more nerve wracking than ever.

Driving home from work when it rained last week felt absolutely terrifying. I never loved driving at night in the rain, but now it feels straight up like guessing where the road is.
