Most likely, he has no idea about the rappers, that they're missing or whose car he was driving. Just some kid in a bad neighborhood that stole an easy-to-steal car (keys in ignition kinda thing) and will now be used by Prosecutors and Defense alike.
Contaminating a crime scene, etc, charges thrown at him so he rolls on random small dealers in his neighborhood to get less time and the Defense (knowingly) falsely accusing him of having some participation.
