Turns out it’s a problem with bad people, who lack empathy, not a race or cop issue.

Granny Smith apples are top tier pie apples, as are many other green apples. Tart apples generally cook better, and have a more balanced flavour when cooked.

Perhaps the op is talking about apple flavouring? sour apple flavour seems to be more popular in the world of sweets, and most apples in pies are generally green.
