The local library can help you with this.
For fashion take a look at 1975 high school and college yearbooks.

Tasty used to be open til 2am daily but now I think it's Thurs Fri Sat. They close earlier (midnight?) on other days. It's hit or miss (both the food & the service) but usually good. I suppose late at night you might get some fries that have been sitting for awhile or something like that. It's run by a family from Afghanistan I think, the chicken kabobs are really good. Avoid the chk nuggets, those are just from the freezer. The fried chicken and the kabobs are cooked-to-order, so call ahead if you don't have 10 mins to spare.

Haven't stayed at Jeffords or any place that feels like you're staying in someone's big old house, just a personal preference for us. Also the rooms seem smallish and cramped but if you got a suite it would probably be very comfortable.
My daughter has stayed at AWOL when they first opened the "cabins" which are built around the old Captain Walker's House. She wants to go back, loved bicycling around the area but Nov might be too cold for that.

Kennebunkport in November? Bring some sweaters! And some board games!
Maybe a deluxe cabin suite at AWOL, just 5 min walk to town but you feel like you're miles away from everything. Fireplace by the window and hope it snows.

The food must have changed over the years because back when I was there many moons ago the cafeteria food was awesome. You could even get french fries for breakfast.

"lovely town".
Well, its very small and your life will most likely be centered just around the school and school events/activities.
The surroundings are quite rural, but there are summer job (some with lodging) opportunities available in Bar Harbor.

Who said those things were equivalent? They are two separate examples of just "expressing an opinion".
You said all the doctor did was "express an opinion".
I say you can express any opinion that you want but there may be consequences. Do you agree?

So if I tell a 4 year old that I see no problem with him jumping into the deep end of the pool, and then sit there and watch him drown, hey.... all I did was express an opinion?
You sound like Marjory Taylor Greene talking about Alex whats-his-face.

covid-deniers or anti-covid-vaxxers?
I mean, how do you work in a hospital and deny that covid is real while they're running out of ventilators over in the next wing?

If it came down to votes in California, gays wouldn't be able to marry. Luckily they've got rights and took it to court. In other words, the majority doesn't just automatically get what they want in this country, that's not how it works.

"People with money"?
Well I ain't got much money but I wouldn't like it if the state suddenly decided that anyone and everyone could sunbathe in my driveway. I mean, I didn't buy a public thoroughfare.

I hope you get a chance to drive up the coast of California between Los Angeles and San Francisco, that's where the scenery is. Stop of and see the ranches/ vineyards/valleys near Lake Cachuma north of Santa Barbara too.
Have you mostly stayed in the oceanside area? That would be like being stationed in Biddeford and thinking you've seen Maine.
Surprised that you find the people in California unhelpful, what was the situation? Did you need a jumpstart or something?

Yes I'm not understanding why so many kids who graduated this year are opting not to further their education in some way. "I need a gap year"....but weren't you just complaining that not going to school during the pandemic ruined your mental health?
