A little ironic, given his involvement in basically doing the same to Zack Snyder.

Yes, yes it is. This is studio interference in a nutshell, plus some inexperience. Luckily, the TV show was significantly better, because he was able to maintain more control over it and make it (mostly) HIS show.
It's just too bad that he ended up a major jackass (was he always like this, but it was kept under wraps, or did his personality "evolve" into this over time. Does it even really matter?). His works make up a significant portion of my favourite shows and movies, and I will pretty much check out any show/film featuring any of the major cast members of Buffy/Angel/Firefly, just because of how much I enjoyed those shows.

Technically, I dabble in Star Trek Online, but that's mostly so I can fly the various ships from the various series. Don't really do the multiplayer part of it.
The last one I played as an mmo was WOW back in the Legion days.

Well, there's that, too.

WRT Superman, Marty, and Doc. Time Travel is a bitch.
- Multiverse theory in which they don't actually prevent it, just move to a timeline where it was already prevented. Those people still die in your original universe (and an infinite number of others), you just don't see it because you've moved to one of the infinite numbers where they don't.
- Grandfather paradox. You can't go back in time to kill your grandfather as a kid, because then you would cease to exist, and thus, be unable to kill your grandfather, which means he survives to go have your parent, who has you, who goes back in time to kill grandpa, who doesn't have your parent, who doesn't have you, so there's no one to go back to kill grandpa. Basically, something will happen to either prevent you from stopping it, or find a workaround to have it still happen (even if slightly different).
- Butterfly effect. We don't know how changing something like that would affect the rest of the timeline.

Reply to Prime John Wick by BenefitPale
Ethan Hunt and James Bond are spies first, so yes, Wick would take them even now.
Jason Bourne would be about the only one of that list who'd put up a solid fight, since he's also a heavily trained assassin, though I do think that Wick aged better than Bourne. In their prime, it would likely be one of Wick's toughest fights, but the odds favour Wick at the present.
Jack Ryan would have no real chance in combat. He's not even an operative for the CIA. He was USMC, so isn't a pure bookworm, but it would be like putting a single-tour infantry soldier up against a Tier 1 SOF veteran. Ryan would be better in a hunting capacity, being one of the guys to try to track Wick down so that someone like Bourne could take him out (or at least stop whatever assassination Wick was contracted for).

How about you just read it and find out for yourself? Maybe you'll find out that the Disney stuff isn't all that bad. I know, I know, what a crazy concept, right?
I happen to be someone that enjoys both the new AND the old, and can do so simultaneously (and can also see where the EU/Legends stuff isn't always good). My favourite Star Wars character of all time, Kyle Katarn, isn't Disney Canon, but so what?
Seriously, just give it a shot. If you must know, the books came out in the last few years, long after the Disney purchase, so assume that they're "Disney Canon".

The universe is expanding, and this expansion isn't bound by the "nothing can travel faster than light", because that only applies to things inside the universe, not the universe itself.

Man, this film is awesome! " Always remember, folks. You heard it first from Charlie!" Did a disaster movie marathon last weekend, and this was the first one I put on.
