My 2022 reads skewed heavily American, with some British and Russian authors thrown in (and I'm Canadian ffs), so I'm aiming for more geographic diversity in 2023. Interested in Rouge Street: Three Novellas by Shuang Xuetao and Chronicles from the Land of the Happiest People on Earth by Wole Soyinka, for a start.

Yeah StoryGraph recommendations aren’t perfect but I’ve definitely put a few of them on my TBR, and I can see the logic for most of them. It’s getting better as I read and rate more books too.

The scene where Eleanor thought she was holding Theodora's hand freaked me right out. In general the sense of tension, claustrophobia, and anxiety was just so well done, always lurking under the surface even when the characters were trying to ignore it/make light of things. The scenes with Montague's wife were funny though.
