If it's fully functional when they open it, you will receive a fully functional phone on return. Essentially the button somehow broke during the repair, so they replaced it all.

I look at the gouge on the band. The one spot on my phone that doesn't match the rest of the paint because it's been scratched off. 1000x worse than any fingerprints.
