In the Philly area, I actually saw a few weak flakes today, which is a rarity this year. Our season snow total stands at a ridiculously low 0.3” and that little dusting melted within a few hours. An average year for us should total 21” of snow. Instead, in February, we’ve had many days in the 60’s and a few in the 70’s. It’s just wrong.

My point is, if other countries had come to us in the 1800's and told us what we were doing was really bad, would we have listened? Anytime outside countries are telling a country not to make money off of the resources they can see out their window... it's a hard sell.

In this case, they're clearing for cattle ranches. I doubt all that beef is staying in Honduras. It needs to be made more profitable to leave the trees standing.

Yeah, this sucks, but I can’t help but be reminded of the forests that used to stand in the US before whole states were clear cut to fuel the economy and make the US what it became today. You’ve all seen the photos of massive redwoods cut by two smiling guys holding a 20 foot saw. Imagine at that time if other countries had pressured the US to stop cutting those old growth forests. Would we have listened? Hell no. So, with that in mind, how do we (we who already clear cut our great forests) convince a poorer nation like Honduras to stop cutting their forests? How much are those remaining forests worth to the rich nations? The oil nations got rich off their resources. Honduras should get equally rich off of preserving the lungs of the world.

I remember a big snow year in the 80’s when I was a teen. My buddy and I skied the woods between the Glades and Cliff Trail which were marked as a closed area at that tine. The powder was between knee an thigh deep, and neither of us had skied in deep snow like that before. I skied down into a little creek bed and heard a yell behind me. My buddy was nowhere to be seen but I could hear muffled screams. I tried to side step to him, but the snow made it impossible, so I popped my skis off and immediately sunk to my waist. I muscled and swam to get out of that little creek, and found him upside down in a tree well with only his ski tails visible. Fortunately, he could breathe, but he was totally stuck. Luckily, I managed to get his skis off, and dig him out. Neither of us realized how much danger we were in.

I’ve never seen conditions like that on Mansfield since. According to the records, the 80’s weren’t close to the really big record years, so I can’t even imagine what those must have been like.

I was biking across Jersey in the MS City to Shore in 2019 when a fighter jet blew over us at low altitude. Holy hell… I almost had to stop and hold my ears.

There were no follow-up kabooms, so I figured WW3 hadn’t started and kept riding. Found out later it was something to do with Tr#um’s golf club.

I have two. One has a room that I’ve threatened to call 1-800-GOT-JUNK on because it was unsafe for human habitation. The other (the one who is gay) has a room that could be featured in Better Homes & Gardens. Sisters… always an adventure.

And, I’m right there with you. They need to change, or die off and let the youngsters fix all of this.

I too am the father of a gay daughter. It sickens me that she has to even hear the filth that conservatives spew about this. It’s none of their business, and my family’s freedom and happiness are infinitely more important than their misguided “beliefs”.

The “meet in the middle” point between hating gay people and not hating gay people isn’t “only hate on odd days of the week”, it’s “don’t hate gay people”.

Edit: autocorrect likes changing gay to gray, which is somehow sad.
