DC is actually quite tough on reckless and drunk driving. I know people who got a first offense in DC that were much tougher on them than people who got a 2nd offense in VA. His lawyer told him not to even bother attending the DMV hearing in DC because the 1y suspension was a 99% certainty.

In most countries if a policeman tipped off a terrorist group to so much as a free coffee refill at 7-Eleven, they’d be charged with a capital offense.

It could be worse. In NJ, the lien purchasers get to keep all the extra equity, its legalized theft from poor and elderly people to wealthy investors.

Possible criticism: The song is pretty martial for an anthem sung at international sporting events. Though it is pretty similar to the Polish and Ukrainian anthems in that way. A lot of anthems are based on 19th century nationalistic poems with similar themes.
