I was walking my dogs near there one day and a Rottweiler jumped out of the window of a parked car and ran at me full speed. I had to pull my dog up to me by the leash and hold the rot back with one foot. The owner stumbled out of the car and pulled the dog back, but it was intense. Wonder if it’s the same dog.

The inordinate fear that those planters put in Rhode Island drivers is one of the most hilarious things about the west side. There’s always enough room and everyone panics when they pass one.

Michael Wilbur is the musician in Moon Hooch that you might be thinking of, but I don’t think this is him. Which is weird, because it is everything he does and exactly how he plays.
Edit: rewatched several times, and definitely not him, but really otherwise is a dead on impression. I used to live in their neighborhood in NYC and saw them all the time. Weird.

There’s a new spot on the west side called Pickeral that looks pretty great. In the old Big King/North spot off Carpenter Street.

California Taco Shop is legit surprisingly authentic and good, totally second that. They even had melón agua fresca once.

Maria isn’t cooking - it’s her kids and grandkids. It’s good, but it’s not quite the same and the quality of cooking isn’t as good.

No, here ‘correct’ does actually involve eating tongue. Cheek and heart also. It was so correct, I had seconds.

The best there’s ever been in Rhode Island, for sure.

These are both Tacquerias. They’re alright, but OP is asking for a decent Mexican restaurant, rather than a taco shop.

Native Arizonan here. You are looking for Chilangos and Dolores.
I’ve been looking for good Mexican food here for 20 years. These two are it for now. The best place in town - El Rancho Grande - closed over the pandemic, but these two are pretty decent. They’re the best you’re gonna find. Trust me, I’ve been working on it for 20 years.

It may have been the dude. It was a stout dude with facial hair. Had a hoodie up, so it was hard to tell about hair.
