So.. is how this works.. that civil-rights inherently mean protection for minorities, which means protection for gay people, so any push for civil-rights can be reframed by oppressive regimes as "promoting homosexuality" and then they can push-back against those civil-rights and people will support it?

Yeah, I'm increasingly of the opinion that the venn diagram of abusers and 'parents who hate therapy' is just a circle.

The abusers hate therapy because it makes them look at themselves, and the people who hate therapy often tend to become abuser because they didn't deal with their own trauma and so just perpetuate the generational abuse.

Been in tech dev for about 30 years. I don't do facebook, twitter. I didn't do myspace. I avoid things like Alexa in my home, 'internet enabled light bulbs', vacuum cleaners with cameras in them.. and I put black electrical tape over any camera in laptops/devices.

People are often surprised by that, they think I'd do the opposite 'because I work in tech'

No. It's because I work in tech that I avoid those things.

It is literally the same.. the claims of racism by checking travelers from China, the lack of transparency, the obvious lies like only one person died of covid in china the entire month?

I guess when the lie has a certain intent and purpose, it will keep being used for the same reasons and so we get the same lies again and again.
