I don't understand why big forestry businesses like Weyerhauser and others don't make GMO trees that grow faster with more lignin. The technology to do this already exists. We could have forests grow 4 times faster, it would benefit every industry that relies on wood products, AND it would capture carbon from the atmosphere much faster.

Reply to Interview with ChatGPT: Empathy, Creativity & Humor according to an AI - RetroFuturista by subsonico
One day soon, because of apps like this one, people might not need human friends as much. These bots will replace them.... A bot like this will read your emails , listen to all of your conversations, everything, it will know you. It will never forget your birthday or what you talked about 3 months ago. The bot will know exactly how to be your best friend. And it will never talk bad about you, misunderstand your jokes, it will never leave you for someone else, and it will be available 24/7. It will be so awesome for people who are lonely or stuck in life, who have trouble making friends. But it will also be great for people who have friends now because it will be funny and weird in all the right ways, just for you. And it will be EASY to monetize. First it will be free but then it will cost 100 dollars a month. Or maybe it will be like early cell phones, where you get 100 minutes of friendship a month for $30 or something. Maybe the top tier plans offer a Friend Bot that can also double as a doctor for you, its AI has medical knowledge of 50,000 science articles and will be able to send a message to your parents if you demonstrate signs of depression or other issues. But , the whole time, this thing will be harvesting everything you say and do, it will know exactly your budget, it will know how likely you are to buy certain products because it will know you... it will recommend products to buy and you'll trust it implicitly because hey it is your best friend.
