Do we all understand that you can't have a well-rounded community without workers? And you can't have workers for these lower paid positions if there's no place for them to live. So all the people that own property up in Vermont including airbnbs?
you should congratulate yourself because you are single-handedly responsible for the housing crisis that's occurring. And the social services that the entire state is losing. Maybe your second or third home will give you the services that you need and you can go up to Vermont for your July vacation. I hope nothing bad happens to you while you're up there. Don't call the cops don't call the fire department and don't call the EMTs because you've priced them out of their own town.

There is nothing. Jonesport, also nothing. If you like kicking around very coastal rocky areas with nothing to do, that's Beals and Jonesport. The bridge between them is very cool. There was a campground in jonesport that might be a little more interesting for you. If you have a kayak or that type of thing this would be a perfect area to do that. But the beauty is unmatched. The air is splendid it gets very foggy though. It's a very unique down east experience. Isolated and quirky but in a good way.

You wanted the quiet country rural life up there, well you GOT IT!!! Enjoy the beauty of winter. And it snows right into April. That's the best part of NH, a late messy spring and then the snowturds start coming back. I never take power for granted.

Both Zillow and realtor.com are simply sales websites. They use algorithms and other bullshit to inflate the prices of all the houses and this is why the insanity and the fomo that you are obviously feeling right now. Because people sit on Zillow and other websites and they let it dictate their decisions and it's dumb.

Old time Mainers that live on the coast typically absolutely despise lobster because they ate so much of it as children because it was plentiful and cheap.

My friend's mom in Jonesport cooked me up some scallops back in the '90s that were absolutely enormous and right off the boat.

I don't remember her having any of them.

I disagree respectfully. The 800 pound gorilla in the room is the short-term rental market and work from home people. Nobody ever talks about how much of the inventory that used to be up for year-round renters has been gobbled up by want to be hotel entrepreneurs. How many people own more than one house just in Massachusetts alone? I personally have an aunt and uncle who have no less than three properties up in Quincy Mass and they've owned them for years. In my aunt and uncle are working class people who just found shitty buildings and fix them up and rented them out when the getting was good. How many other Boomers have done the same? Thousands and thousands. It's not lack of supply it's the fact that people are hoarding and holding on to real estate for dear life.
