“Affordable” being an subjective measure, here is a tier list of the best “romantic” (also subjective) restaurants in the area:

Low tier (~$10/plate): Bambino’s on Delmar, Nonnas, Greek Belly

Low-mid tier (~$15/plate): Catrinas Mexican, Piccolos, Archie’s Italian Eaterie, Zayka Indian, Civil kitchen, Cafe B-29,

Mid tier (~$20/plate): Bruno’s, The Rock, Rama Thai, Kai after dark, Flame, Habana Vieja (my personal recommendation), The Finely in Ozark,

High tier ($20+/plate): Progress, The Garrison, Finley river farms, Metropolitan Grill, Nicola’s Ristorante, Char, Jimms steakhouse, Gilardis, Harvest restaurant in Rogersville,

It may be worth contacting legal services of southern Missouri. They have social workers who can sometimes (not always) help with locating income based housing, and they can also help you apply for ERA Emergency Housing funds and other beneficial programs. You could also contact or go to the O’Rielly center for hope, or go through Community Partnership of the Ozarks or Catholic Charities of Southern Missouri

If you’re looking for college crowds, all of the above recommendations are perfect. If you’re looking for great drinks and a better atmosphere, I would highly recommend the following:

Golden girl rum club

J.O.B. Public house and prime time (if they don’t close due to the owner passing away)

The Vantage

Best of Luck Beer hall

Cherry Picker PackageXFare

The Royal music hall

Tie and Timber beer company

Hope this helps, and we’ll see ya out there!

I’ve DM’d a handful of campaigns, all of which have been homebrewed. I’m working on another home brew campaign now. Will have a couple of players that I know, but would be open to taking on 2-3 more players. Looking to start the campaign sometime in January.
