Definitely becomes depressing as the show kept losing cast members and the final lyrics are "One by one they all fade away."

Reply to Never really cared for Steve Buscemi‘s casting as a crime boss in Boardwalk Empire. Excellent character actor, not a leading man. Still a great show. by Moon-Unity
Yep. And Buscemi was out of place on The Sopranos. He needs to be more Mr. Pink, he's not a convincing tough guy (even if he's a real tough guy considering his firefighting experience.)

The Sopranos. Tony is already the boss in The Pilot, while the next episode introduces Jackie as the Boss and Tony is just a capo.
David Chase said he didn't think the show was going to get picked up and basically was planning to take what footage he'd had and make a movie out of it.

Everything David Simon has done has been top quality. Impressive considering even a lot of great television writers (David Milch, Matthew Weiner) have struggled after their shows went off the air to recapture the magic.

Reply to Is it possible the madness that is Riverdale is actually purposefully insane and it’s just for teen shows what Twin Peaks was for melodrama soap operas? by Spooky_Cron
I loved the show at first for that very reason. I thought it was insane on purpose. But the more it went on, the more I started to realize that crazy for crazy's sake doesn't necessarily mean good writing.

Not often that a post makes me want to watch a show, but this post did, so respect.

Seems exactly like a Jack Reacher/Jack Ryan type of show with a similar square-jaw hero, so I'm not surprised.
