Historically, it has worked well for the US.

And the immigration to Germany added to their gdp [citation needed - have no time to look for it]

Not sure why some people have stopped believing in what made this country great. I seriously suspect it has to do with racism and that the new immigrants are not blonde enough.

One thing i forgot to add, for kid #2 we were suggested to go to MGH, because we were not as young and there were some risks.

As I wrote, it’s not as luxurious as Mt Auburn, and kinda massive, but our second was born perfectly well and without hiccups or broken equipment.

If Mt Auburn is an Audi: pretty but spotty quality then MGH is a Toyota: sturdy but reliable

Mount Auburn, years ago. Food was delicious even for SO. Room really luxurious.

They almost killed my daughter, won’t go into details here.

And then gorgeous incubator they had in the room didn’t work. My kid had to be rushed out of the room to one that did. When I saw the faces of worry in the nurses, I knew this wasn’t us being first time parents, but the real deal.

CHA seems even worse. Only there once for ER years ago. It was a terrible experience.

Go to MGH. It’s not as pretty but, they know what the f are doing.

Part of the hesitation is that we’ve been down this road before with “ether”, in pre-relativistic times. It was nearly consensus that ether existed and was necessary to explain light and radio, but unfortunately nobody was able to find it. And then those pesky experiments about the speed of light, and the kid from the patent office.

I’m far from an expert, and dark matter seems from what you write proven by many independent sources. But, I can guess, for many, it smells like an esoteric substance stubbornly refusing to be directly identified.
