I've lived in a few places in CT. Currently in NW part of the state and seasonal depression is noticeable. When I lived near the water in Stamford, I did not have SAD. I lived in RI before that, did not have SAD.

I get through it by having lots of cups of hot broth, hot baths and making fires. This winter was mild so going out for hikes was helpful too. It is a huge challenge and my goal is to be a snow bird (go down south for 3 months) when my husband and I retire. That's nearly 2 decades away, so I'm in it for the long haul. If you can move, you should. It will be life altering.

Umm.. that's not the only reason to buy. Renting you are basically throwing away your money with no chance to reclaim any of it. Buying, you have an opportunity to reclaim some when you sell. You may gain some or lose some. Renting is a total loss of $36,000 every year at $3k/mo rent. As long as you don't buy more than you can maintain, buying is the best option. POV: rented 7 years in FC, owned 4 years in FC.

This looks like the only section mentioning motorized bikes

"Sec. 3. Section 14-289g of the general statutes is repealed and the 55 following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective October 1, 2023): 56 (a) No person [under eighteen years of age] may (1) operate a 57 motorcycle or a motor-driven cycle, as defined in section 14-1, or (2) be 58 a passenger on a motorcycle or motor-driven cycle, unless such operator 59 or passenger is wearing protective headgear of a type which conforms 60 to the minimum specifications established in 49 CFR 571.218, as 61 amended from time to time. Any person who violates [this section] any 62 provision of this subsection shall have committed an infraction and shall 63 be fined not less than ninety dollars. 64 (b) As used in this section, the term "motorcycle" [shall] does not 65 include "autocycle"."

I live in Hartford County. I would love to take mass transit to anywhere in the state and have tried. It's just not realistic. I can't even pick up the Hartford line that goes to New Haven without driving 40 minutes to the nearest station. I can drive to New Haven in 1 hour 5 minutes... there's no point. Give us a Torrington or West Hartford stop and I might give it a go. Also 95 sucks. Lived in Fairfield County for 10 years.. good riddance!!
