It's been done on plenty of shows where I've tolerated it, Breaking Bad included, but as a rule I get immediately put off by the 'open on a crazy scene then cut to [three] [days] earlier' format. Feels so obnoxious.

Pretty much the whole new cast from season 2 (except Desmond) had to be killed off for various reasons, wild to think how different the show might have been if not for all of that.

Billions and Succession and pretty similar, with the latter being much better (though both are good).

I dunno I really enjoyed the breather between the first part of Stranger Things 4 and the final 2 episodes, gave people a chance to catch up and actually have some watercooler chat about it while it was still relevant, you don't often get that with Netflix shows.

The difference between The Leftovers and Lost is that while both have a big 'core mystery', the former implies heavily that the mystery won't be answered (and that's the point), while the latter continuously teases the answer and drip-feeds you answers to smaller sub-mysteries that are so incredibly cool that the final resolution feels like it's going to be even more mind-blowing and perfect. And, as a super-fan of Lost, I can tell you that it isn't. Go in having accepted that, and you will love it.
