Amy was awkward and lovable. Damaged but kind. Her voice got her to fame, but her pain informed her art and that includes her discomfort with performances. Seeing her on stage sober despite that made me love her more. That was a challenge and she did it anyway.

In a variety of interviews you can see she had low self esteem. Amy was exploited like a cash cow and her story gives me a visceral reaction every time I think of her.

Iā€™m gonna get downvoted to hell, but the Car by the Arctic Monkeys.

Many would say ā€œlisten to it againā€, ā€œyou donā€™t have evolved tasteā€, or ā€œbands arenā€™t supposed to stay the sameā€. Yeah, I get that. All for evolution of a band but that album is a slow, shell of what I loved about the Arctic Monkeys.

I definitely recognize when an album isnā€™t for me even when I still love the artist. Iā€™ll be waiting for the day they put out an album that has more energy.
