Yes and no. I agree with the idea, but not the example.

We are all homo sapiens, the only difference is in appearance and culture.

You're confusing species with race. The dog equivalent of our human problem is breed. Dogs have different breeds, just as human have different races. That's not a great way to look at it, but you get the idea. I do think that humans should better understand that the difference between races is not as great as the similarities. We have much more in common than we have different, and I think if we focused on the similarities rather than trying to fix the differences, the world could be a better place.
