Yep.
IANAP, but if you post pictures of the drain, you might get pointers for removing it.

Exactly. The pipe is kind of recessed in the floor. Damage it, and the job becomes much larger. Best bet is to remove the drain beforehand.

New Yankee Workshop has video and plans for a workbench, along with Norm's commentary about what to use, where, and why (IIRC, it was 20 years ago I built mine).
If you build one, there might be a mistake in the measurements for cutting the notches in the feet. Or maybe it was mine.

To do it all the way across, you do it in one pass, and the metal gets really hot and warps as you weld (unless you are very good at welding). The best way around it is to do a short weld, move to a different area far away, do a short weld, move, do a short weld...

Looked galvanized to me, but I'm old. Gal or not, it needs painted.

Drink your milk, it's galvanized. And don't forget to paint it before it rusts.

If we were sane, we already would be. As I said in another comment, it has been shown to reduce STD's, teen pregnancy, and abortions.
However, as a single data point, I've told this to a RW, anti-abortion, woman who said, "NO! We can only agree to do it if it stops ALL abortions!"
(emphasis was hers)

They will see a reduction in STD's, abortions, and teenage pregnancy.

At least one verse was written about Warren Beatty, as Carly Simon revealed in 2003.
The funny part is that after the release of the song, Warren Beatty called her to thank her for writing a song about him.

When it first showed in college, my autopilot drove all the way across Dearborn, right past the computer store I needed to visit.
About 10 years ago, it drove on I-40, almost all the way across Texas.

It's even worse than you say. The minimum wage of $7.25 does NOT affect anyone that gets tips, like a server in a restaurant. The Federal minimum for those people is $2.13/hour.
And no, it's not going to change in CorpoAmerica
