Bump for Rory’s and Eno…
but there are also some excellent breweries in town that are worth a trip and sell beer to go. Moniker, Long Live, and Narragansett (seriously; this is not your father’s Gansett) are all in town and either walkable or a short Uber; Buttonwoods and Origin share a space about 10 minutes south in Cranston; Proclamation is down by the airport in Warwick. They generally send one via regular Mail, one via Certified. If the ticket numbers match, you’re good - it’s the same ticket.

Not in Providence, but in Coventry. In the Tropical Smoothie parking lot, no less… my 14 year old gets out of the car and blurts out “Dad, those people are fucking!”
Yes, child. Yes, they are.

New Rivers for a full meal, the Eddy for great cocktails and filling snacks. The East End is a solid runner up - their cocktails program is more expansive than New Rivers, but I don’t think the food is as good.
Ooh, and I’ve forgotten the Red Door - it’s more of a bar atmosphere than a restaurant atmosphere, but both the drinks and the food are great.

The Eddy. Great cocktails (like the Avery), but with food.

The burger at New Rivers is excellent - even though it's not a "going out for a burger" place.

Definitely do a trial run - ideally more than one, so you can get a feel for timeliness of trains… and don’t do it on the weekend. It takes significantly longer during the week.

Same, though the fact that you don’t have to connect to the T helps a lot. I was going to Kendall Square, and it was reliably 2 hours or more each way thanks to the red line.
One other thing to keep in mind is that parking at PVD station is now $18 a day and is a super small lot… but there’s a surface lot next to the Citizen’s/Cafe Nuovo building that’s always available, costs the same, and is a 3 minute walk to the station. Parking availability shouldn’t be a concern (though cost certainly could be).

Food-wise; I’m a big fan of Sarto, Pane e Vino, The George, and Circe for business meals. Circe can have a bit of a “finance bro” vibe at the bar, which may or may not be a good thing for your meeting.
The Eddy, Red Door, and Lucky Enough are all bars with excellent drinks and really good food and would be my choices if I was traveling for business and eating solo - along with Murphy’s (who’s got a great French Dip and a solid beer selection). Gracie’s is probably our only “traditional fine dining” place, but New Rivers and Persimmon are every bit as good food-wise, just a bit more casual… but Providence is super casual anyway, as you’ve probably found.
