Reply to Republicans in Vermont? by rolloofnormandy50
The only reason that Phil Scott continues to win in Vermont is because there's enough people that think he'll be an effective check on a Democratic supermajority. The problem is, there are Republicans that are frustrated that he's not more "right" like DeSantis or Trump. Some were already named in this thread and "never say never" when it comes to politics. You don't want to take chances that they would win, hence the need to VOTE.

Sounds like you just want to dismiss the opinions of those younger than you.

Younger generation? Check the thread where people list their ages in this subreddit. Lot of older people.

It was a dumb fucking idea cooked up by the AirBNB owners/representatives in Montpelier.

Lol. Not sure why I was downvoted. I have generations of ancestors in this state and that’s what I was always told. We call people like Bernie “honorary vermonters.”

You shouldn’t judge all tenants by the actions of a few bad tenants.

You aren’t a Vermonter unless you were born on Vermont soil.

Sometimes it’s nice to know as construction sites used to have a little info but not anymore (security reasons?)

BFP is nothing but a “McPaper” like all of the other Gannett clones and even USA Today.

I mean, "The Year Without A Summer" is documented in many Vermont history books, including the book "History of Swanton, Vermont".
However, weather anomalies should not be confused with a changing climate, though there was a mini-ice age sometime in the 1800s that might explain the lack of a summer.

Regardless of what it is called (I really don't care), I'm describing a situation that is often cited by out of state drivers as one of the worst traits of Vermonters. I usually only slow down for the conditions or when there's a traffic backup.

Does driving 10-15mph below the speed limit count as over-defensive driving? The person is being cautious to the point where they're putting others in danger when trying to drive around.
random_vermonter t1_j826uei wrote
It seems like traffic is either too aggressive or too defensive. I nearly got clipped by a truck rushing straight out of a bar to McDonalds. No one seems to know how to take it easy.

Millennial here. I'm familiar with all of that. This generation-bashing has got to stop unless Gen X is prepared to have it thrown back in their faces. After all, they were the generation that were guinea pigs for kidnappings, lead poisoning and preventable deaths.

For someone that went to college, you seem to be pulling things out of your ass and presenting them as fact. College students absolutely need helping finding information, especially with all of the DIS-information out there.

Larry Hogan was a moderate Republican governor in a blue state (Maryland). Similar to Scott for his anti-Trump stance.
