Can you elaborate on this? What does this mean for the average person?

The iPhone has had marginal improvements with each recent iteration—mainly the camera
The iPhone, in its earlier versions, had massive improvements with each new iPhone

I’m sure you’re right but it just doesn’t quite feel like it

So an exponential growth curve rather than an S-curve?

Does AGI necessarily abide by an S-curve given how unique it is relative to other technologies? I’m struggling to think through this

Humans tend to be more reactive than proactive, but with the advent of more and more powerful technologies, there are greater implications to being like this.
Think about social media and how much of an impact it has had on society! Then consider something far, far more powerful such as AI.

Agree, but I do think that building some of the most disruptive and powerful AI today gives them SOME authority

Don’t be so sure. Check:
- John Carmack,
- Greg Brockman
- Sam Altman
‘s opinions on this. And these people are not only experts, but they’re on the front lines.

Does that mean you think that OpenAI (and companies of the like) are approaching things incorrectly?

Can you explain what you mean as the difference between AGI and a real synthetic mind?

Wow, fascinating explanation. Do you think this is a post-AGI thing, then? (Or perhaps not because you mentioned specialized AI)

I didn’t want social media or algorithms to be a thing, but they became one anyway.
Almost everybody has several generic issues—some much more serious than others. What’s wrong alleviating that?

The more capable the LLM, the more impact it will have on the job market. I suppose it all depends on the capabilities.

But is this curing diseases? Editing babies? Editing the genes of people currently living?
What does AI in biomedical tech actually specifically and practically look like?
