I enjoyed the first season but I suspect a lot of that was because he was more of the hard-boiled PI (which I really like) than lawyer. Wondering how I will feel about it if he becomes more lawyer, less private investigator, or if the investigation part will still be a really substantial part of the story.

It's definitely cost-cutting, but I suspect they are also hoping that more focus on fewer projects also helps the quality.

Anyway for a few years now I've been thinking that Disney probably needs a third tentpole franchise of some kind (if you don't count their animation as one already) just so they could dial back on Marvel in particular, but also Star Wars a bit. That way instead of giving us 5 movies and 5 shows about Marvel MCU each year, you can cut it back to 3 of each and fill the void with another franchise. Maybe they could even do a Marvel non-MCU franchise of some kind.

Only 2 episodes in and trying to find time to finish it because I love it so far.

It's definitely not for everyone, but if you are in the mood for or enjoy getting really wrapped up and lost into other worlds/times then this show works. So far it has done a really good job at imparting the feeling of bleakness, desolation, and lawlessness/danger in the Old West.

S2 after the initial mystery was solved really went off the rails when David Lynch left. That part of the show/series is considered the weakest by far.

The series became a classic for S1 and the start of S2. You have to remember that TV was different at the time--there was never anything like this on TV before.
