Yeah, I came across the sub r/ageregression a while back and some of the posts there legit kinda freaked me out.

No hate towards anyone in that sub or anything (I fully support them having a community and being happy), I just worry for myself how I could slide into something possibly unhealthy in my search for peace and comfort (e.g. weed and shopping for me).

I say that as someone who actually only just got into comics at ~30.

Yeah, but idiots really like simple answers.

I mean, I would think the fact our uber-capitalist society bases people's worth on how much money they have (and how attractive they are) has something to do with people basically selling themselves to try and be rich and famous. But nah, it's just this one new app. Before, it was video games ruining kids. Before that it was comics, etc. The kids are always doing just fine until some new thing comes and it's always the shiny new thing that ruined them not their struggling fuckin' parents and the toxic, should-sucking society they grew up in.

That's awesome and similar to my mentality, as long as you don't look down on people that did the same thing yet didn't have it "pay off".

I mean, I remember seeing a lady on TV during the pandemic (when lots of people were leaving their jobs) talking about how she'd worked at some diner for 10 years getting less than a $2 raise. I can't imagine what that must feel like. It feels easy to blame her for not hustling but I wish her hard work could've paid off for her.
