Oof, nasty spot for residential buildings if true. That intersection of 21 and Bridge Street is crazy busy and loud basically all day long.

Seconding Tony’s!!! I’ve tried other pizza places in the area and always return to Tony’s, they’re the best by far!

Thanks for this info!! I knew the parking garage and IDT building had been sold; I keep my car in that garage and the staff there had mentioned it, but they didn’t have any idea what was going to happen with that garage or this vacant land next door either. The vacant lot has been an eyesore for a long time, so I’m excited to see some work going on down there regardless of what it may end up being!

I tried looking around on the City of Newark website but had no luck finding anything! I work in a construction-adjacent field in NYC and am used to looking permits up online there, and was hoping Newark would have a similar system but no-go unfortunately.

Reply to comment by tsukinoxhana in Moving to NJ for a job in Raritan by tsukinoxhana
I did almost this exact commute for 6 months pre-pandemic (Harrison to Somerville, Harrison is one town west of Jersey City) and the commute was a huge factor into why I decided to get a job in NYC instead. The drive in the morning was busy but never THAT bad, but the afternoon drive was jam packed with traffic and absolutely infuriating to deal with. What should’ve been a 35-40 min drive without traffic was easily an hour to an hour and a half home every evening. I’m not sure how the commute is now post-pandemic, but generally traffic throughout the state feels like it’s gotten worse since pre-pandemic times, so I can’t imagine it’s gotten any better.

Reply to Vets that still do NOT allow owners in by blooobery
My vet is still doing this, and I actually prefer it. My cat gets to hang in my car with me while she waits, whereas before she would get scared in the waiting room if dogs were barking or it was especially noisy for whatever reason while we waited. My vet also calls me as soon as the vet tech brings my cat in and gives me a full run down of what she’s doing while she’s doing it, and answers any questions I may have right then. However, I totally get if you would prefer to be in the room with your pet. If it’s a deal breaker for you, I’d try shopping around for another vet. Good luck!
