I hate to bring up this practicality when the most important piece of this is your child’s health, but would your health insurance cover a specialist or hospital stay at Mercy?? Because if not, that could be tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket….

I know that’s not an issue for everyone, but I know my insurance only covers Cox providers or the out of network folks in STL they refer me to….

Burrell does an EXCELLENT job at adult ADHD evals (most psych evals, really…) unfortunately because they are the best in town & demand is high, their wait is Loooong rt now. Like first apt is out a year on wait time. They do have wait/ cancel lists & move ppl up as much as they can. Also the way they schedule even if you have to wait a year for the initial interview, your testing apt is usually within 1-2 weeks so that’s good at least.

No idea on price- that depends on your insurance often times. If you are paying out of pocket/ cash you might be able to negotiate with them a bit on timing & price, esp. if you are willing to be tested by an intern who is being supervised by a licensed doc.

OP if you need to call the cops in the future, request a CIT officer respond to the call. They have additional training in MH issues & there is supposed to be at least one CIT trained officer on shift at all times.

The health dept. is doing them for free, I think. Any chance your employee is doing a free flu shot clinic? Mine does this yearly, but I work adjacent to healthcare…. Honestly more employers SHOULD do this- will save a lot of headache & money on inevitable call outs if ppl get the flu!
