This is probably the important qualifier in their post.

Not a problem! I'm glad you can stay on - MaineCare helped my family through some difficult times. I am glad to see it continuing to help others.

You will have to use your upcoming, expected income. If you enter your current earnings (<1500 a month) it will simply direct you to apply for MaineCare.
For example: if I put in a 26 year old making 21,000 per year in Cumberland County, it will output a premium subsidy of $338/month, and suggest a $6/month plan (the cost after the premium subsidy is applied) with a $500 deductible.
Or if I put in a 26 year old making $35,000 per year, it will output a premium subsidy of $216 , and suggest a $174/month plan with a $2,500 deductible.

Have you used the Maine marketplace website? You can input your expected income under See Plans.
The website will tell you if you qualify for premium subsidies and which plans are available in your area.

It's not like the King campaign called any of these people out publicly for being bots. They just reported them to the websites responsible to investigate, and it looks like some of them did end up suspended, so.... who cares?
Here's the linked doc. It doesn't look that different than what redditors do when tracking bot chains.

Kinda chuckling at all the folks saying this is ugly. The model certainly looks nicer than any entry-level mobile home.
600 square feet, no shared walls with the neighbors, all the basic necessities, and a porch. These are being made in Maine, through the hardwork and innovation of Maine schools and organizations. What a fantastic project - I hope it helps many people.

Is the Press Herald heavily Republican leaning then? Because it's on the homepage there.

Press Herald article:
> The speaker of the Maine House is calling on a state representative to resign over allegations that he violated Maine’s Clean Election Act during his 2022 campaign. > > Rep. Clinton E. Collamore Sr., D-Waldoboro, was indicted last month on multiple counts of aggravated forgery, unsworn falsification and violations of the Clean Election Act, according to the Dec. 15 indictment filed in Lincoln County Superior Court. > > House Speaker Rachel Talbot Ross, D-Portland, has asked Collamore, 62, to step down.
Luckily, it seems like everyone agrees. Fuck Collamore - it's completely shameful to defraud the Clean Election fund.

The insurance offered through my mothers work (about $25/month) covers prescription food. So if her cat went in with an emergency urinary blockage (~$1.5k - $3k) it'd cover the bill, then pay the ~$1k a year or so in prescription food costs going forward. Minus a $250 deductible.

Reply to comment by 404-GeezManIDK in Maine Will Have a New Minimum Wage Beginning on January 1st by Shake-Spear4666
I think there are still plenty of folks who have been making $14/$15 an hour for ages and just don't think anything of it. They'll probably get an indirect boost from the minimum wage increasing.
Edit:
> Maine’s minimum wage will increase to $13.80 to keep up with the cost of living on January 1, thanks to a voter approved referendum passed in 2016. The adjustment will boost wages for up to 147,000 working Mainers, according to the Maine Center for Economic Policy (MECEP). According to Maine law, each year the minimum wage is adjusted by the percent increase in the 12-month Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers for the Northeast Region as of August in the previous year. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics recently released data finding an 8.1 percent increase in prices, resulting in next year’s minimum wage raise. > > According to MECEP analysis of US Bureau of Labor Statistics data, nearly 71,000 Mainers currently earn less than the new minimum hourly wage of $13.80. These workers will see an immediate wage increase on January 1. MECEP also expects nearly 76,000 Mainers who earn just over the new minimum wage level will see their wages increase as employers adjust wage scales.

That's one of our Thanksgiving staples - halve a butternut squash, roast the halves with butter and brown sugar, then scoop & mash.
Between the squash, sweet potatoes, and regular potatoes... there's a lot of mashed vegetable on our table lol.

Walmart carried both raw turkey drumsticks & pre-smoked turkey drumsticks, last time I went looking.
Edit: Raw drumsticks look to be sold out (though if you call the store, maybe there are still some around), but "Villari Brothers" smoked drumsticks are still listed online for a number of Maine locations.

Entering the address for city hall, I can see:
- A recorded candidate forum for Bangor City Council, plus a bunch of questionaire answers.
- At least one candidate each for School Committee, County Treasurer, and State Rep filled out the questionaire.
And doing some digging,
- There's a blurb about Mower (Treasurer candidate who didn't respond to 411) from an outdated article. Scroll through the bit about the guy they're replacing.
- Hassanien (School candidate who didn't respond to 411) has a pretty thorough questionaire on another website.

Sure. That might be fair. I don't have the numbers either way, but I thought it unfair to judge a guy on half his comment.
