Have you ever been to an H-Mart? Never seen a smelly fish section in any of the locations I've shopped at. Always way fresher and cleaner than Chinatown markets.

Also, unless you're only going to Manhattan locations, the prices aren't really that bad lol, whenever I visit my parents in Queens I come back with a load of groceries because they're cheaper than everything near me.

By the way, they were my local small business since I was a kid, and my parents have shopped with them since their first location. I've literally grown up with them. Sorry that doesn't fit your narrative.

Dunno wtf you're talking about, I go frequently and my folks mainly shop there. Might be some trendy dismissable business to white transplants and yupsters, but for Korean families, they are a staple grocery store that carries everything we need. I'll always be happy they're doing well.

They're mainly opening in areas with high or rising Asian populations. They know their target market and expand well. Don't get mad that there's businesses out there that don't feel the need to cater to typical demographics.
