1gb plan in Augusta since oct or nov. Works great. Good up time.

To be fair i had zero issue with Spectrum. Fidium simply delivers a better value with faster overall speed for the money as well as uncapped upload.

As i evangelize on every Fidium post I respond to, use your own equipment. Their techs have access to your settings if you use theirs.

There are a few Maine YouTubers who got together last year to put on sort if an expo on equipment, techniques and such. Was a neat event and i was able to see some of the drill augers and ice shacks in person before i made my purchases.

The channels i know if were:

Joe Holland Fishing Precision Angling Maine Trout Whisperer Fishing4Adventure

They may do something this year but who knows. Some havent been very active this year.

Augusta Fidium customer and zero issues with it.

Since I see a lot off discussion on the topic of "own router" on this post. Yes you can use your own router as stated by giving them the MAC or cloning it.

However, I'm going to give a friendly reminder that by using their router, their techs have remote management permissions by default (no setting to disable i t) and can see all the clients hooked up to it.

While we're talking about central Maine: Uncorked Wine & Cheese in Augusta may be a good option for wine (they specialize in more boutique offerings for regular clientele). While you're in the area, check the newly built Damon's on the other side of town. The new Augusta store has a high-end liquor cabinet. Not to say the Waterville location doesn't have it, I just never noticed it if they did.

Save the day trip for the summer. For someone already from the Midcoast area, you won't be as awe-struck with the place as someone from another state to make going in the winter worth your while. (Not to mention, ferry cancellation is far more likely in the winter than summer.)

The summer is much more vibrant. Swimming in the quarries, hiking lanes island (either beach or trails), or visiting the flea market (Saturdays). Not to mention, your food options are far more varied in the summer.

I'd recommend bringing a car. The island is not to big, but it will help you fit the most into a single day.

Would love to know if you find a good one. I have some I'd like to get a new edge put on. I thought about that mail order Knife Aid thing for my "ok" knives, but haven't bit the bullet yet.

Where in Freeport did you go? Was it an easy sharpen-while-you-wait thing or did you have to go back and pick them up another day?
