it’s funny because the comment you need to really understand what’s going on is not at the top

A link that tells you the identity of the artist? That’s what you find wrong about this?

being able to cycle to manhattan in 15 minutes instead of waiting 20 minutes or more for the path on weekends would be actually pretty cool

Isn’t the “economic terms” fully encapsulated in rental price?

Every person moving into a new building would be displacing someone if that new building weren’t built

For one, New Jersey has Mount Laurel Doctrine which basically requires all municipalities to plan for growth

Maybe??? I seem to remember that New Jersey suburban counties are quite far ahead of New York suburban counties in permitting housing.

They’re not different markets, both are quite reasonable commutes to Manhattan. I live and work in Jersey City and have quite a few coworkers on Long Island. And a number of people move from Long Island to New Jersey (as a native Long Islander I know quite a few)

just pointing out that every road in New Jersey is designated for bikes unless it’s a highway or some other regulation says so

inb4 some carbrain says something like “never walk in front of a car unless it’s completely stopped” which, newsflash, is basically never because drivers don’t properly yield

Downtown is already filled to the brim with cars. Prioritizing access for more drivers at this point is a dead end. We need to prioritize safety and other transport options instead.

The amount of times i see the last person in a queue of cars at a green light honking is out of control. Like sir, have you driven in Jersey City before? Have you driven in any city? Have you ever driven a car? The people in front need to go first.

People are choosing the bike lane instead of the sidewalk because it’s often futile to get drivers to stop at 7th street so you can cross the street to use the correct bike lane
