I'm not making an argument. This sub is r/explainlikeimfive so I was just trying to explain to you what is the most common explanation I've heard in the simplest way possible. I'm not advocating for or defending any practices.

I myself have no kids, have never had unprotected sex, and consider myself very in control of my emotions, so I don't even need to try to get out of any kind of blame. Anyway, I hope my explanation helped in some way.

Humans are most definitely animals. We are very smart apes, but we are still apes. We still have natural instincts we need to fight against or work with.

People don't think clearly when they're horny. If they're in bed with someone, and they just found out they're out of condoms, chances are they're going to risk it and have unprotected sex. Of course as soon as sex is finished they'll realize their huge mistake, but in the moment the brain doesn't work rationally.

Sperm whales have the biggest brain of any creature but they are not the most intelligent creature. We aren't sure why, but brain to body ratio seems to correlate with intelligence. If a person is 40% larger, but their brain is also only 40% larger, then they aren't likely to be more intelligent.

Jewish wouldn't assimilate to the nations they moved to. If a group of Jewish people moved to, say, Germany, the Jewish people would have a different religion, language, and customs compared to the other German people. Even if a Jewish family had three generations of descendants in Germany those grandkids would still be very clearly different from other Germans. In our modern world we may see this as no big deal, diversity is encouraged now, but for most of history it just made a target on the backs of the Jewish.
