The 1929 A’s were the best team this city had ever had. Very close in second place are the 66-67 Sixers. So many hall of famers on each of those rosters.

If you cannot attend this game, consider attending Saturday’s Penn-LaSalle game. The Palestra is being honored with a PA historical marker at 12:30. It’s also the return of Fran Dunphy as coach of LaSalle. Lots of great storylines! Game is at 2pm.

Reply to WIP legend Angelo Cataldi signs off, begins retirement by Weinertabogon
I'm really going to miss Angelo. There's no doubt his show was not for everyone. For me, it was the perfect balance of sports talk and entertainment. But regardless how you feel about him, there's no doubt he worked hard, paved the way for sports talk radio, and deserves a nice and relaxing retirement. I met him once....and contrary to his on-air persona, he's actually a really nice, low-key, and caring guy.
