Check out Western Rise. Although you don’t need to hike in them, you could. They are great for casual, travel, and I wear mine to meetings (depends on your job of course). Super durable. I have diversion and evolution.

Everlane French Terry crew - have 3. Heavy solid material that doesn’t stretch or pill. Seriously great.
Also Itlalic Terry cotton blend and heavyweight.
Have heard good things about Patagonia.

Salomon has some very solid jackets and pants for just these scenarios.
E.g. (but explore site for many others)

Reply to Blue Light Blocking Lenses by bigpicnictable
There’s no evidence that blue blocking reduces eye strain. In short that has more to do with taking breaks, text size, and your glasses Rx.
Blue light is incredibly important and in fact should be consumed/absorbed from wake until ~60 but ideally 90 minutes before you want to be asleep. In fact, blocking blue light during the day is detrimental to your natural rhythms and has cascading effects.
Blocking at night will allow your natural melatonin expression. I use the Rise Science app to predict my circadian and get a reminder to put on blue blockers as my melatonin window approaches (time shifts daily).
For more info look up Dr. Satchin Panda (book) and several Dr. Andrew Huberman podcast episodes.

Can you ask your doctor for the peer reviewed evidence they are citing (oh man that pun!)? As far as I know thread no evidence helps with screen related strain.

Panda is the circadian king!
I use the Rise Science app to notify me relative to my melatonin window when you throw on my blue blockers.

Definitely an aspect of a wind down routine which signals to the brain. But, if you have good blue blockers you’re also allowing the natural expression of melatonin.

They hold up incredibly well. I wear them A LOT and no discernible wear.
Evolution are thinner/lighter and fit a bit looser. Diversion are thicker canvas - more denim weight - and the fit is more tailored.
There’s an evolution 2.0 out but I’ve not tried.
I’m 5’7.5” and have had all of them tailored shorter - and no issues.
Fwiw I have WR hats, 2 merino oxfords, and a performance flannel (discontinued I think). All their stuff is great. I’ve backed most projects on kickstarter. I’d buy their jackets too if I didn’t have a good lineup already.

Western Rise. I have 3 pairs of evolution and 1 pair of diversion (a bit heavier and more tapered). People really like their AT too.
I can travel for weeks with just a few pair, wear with tee shirt, button down, or sweatshirt. Especially the evolution do well in warmth (though I wear diversion in summer heat too), but also a nice job cutting wind.
I was checking and looks like they have a sale on pants right now.

My beta ar is a tank. Varying layers under it allows for good versatility too.

Suggest taking a look at Western Rise. I own their evolution and diversion pants and they are stellar.
