i think its something closer to the road. not to spoil but the show takes place a lot further in than most shows. its not about the fall of civilization its a very intimate/character focused story about how people deal with their trauma and learn to live again after spending a long time just surviving. its not super action packed. i know that makes it sound cheesy but its not lol

the craziest thing about this part of the story is that Seasons 3 and 4 are combined into one book. Imagine all the climactic moments from both these seasons but happening back to back to back.

the parts of the office that show Michael’s more honest or serious sides are part of what makes it special in my opinion. steve carrell was excellent at making this annoying buffoon sympathetic at times. he was actually an empathetic and kind person at heart lol

TLOU Episode 3 is in no way in the conversation for episode ever made imo. S3E17 and S4E19-21 from Attack on Titan are all better.
Id add Ozymandias from Breaking Bad (S5x14), Winds of Winter (S6E13) or The Rains of Castamere (Red Wedding) from Game of Thrones

it wasn’t necessary to see the whole thing, but i dont really think it detracts from it either. its nice to see the show flesh the world out more. we didnt need to see sara’s entire day before the outbreak or the whole cold open from episode 2 either (i realize those take up less time but you get the idea)

i thought it was very well made and written. it works as a standalone episode but also thematically builds upon the overall story and Joel’s character arc.
i do think its a little overhyped though. id guess it gets lots of extra appreciation due to it unashamedly being a gay love and romance story and playing it completely straight as opposed to making a big deal out of it. which i think is dope, more people should see these things and realize that its normal and not a big deal.

i grew up on revenge of the sith and the clone wars so whenever i think of star wars the first thing i think of are clone troopers, battle droids, jedi generals, badass heroic anakin, etc. still my favorite era at age 22

in the pilot of Succession Roman clearly has a wife and kids but they’re never seen again and i think are retconned as his ex girlfriend and her kids

just finish season 6, its not the same show anymore but in terms of spectacle and entertainment it definitely ends with a bang. the last two seasons are garbage
