I hate living here in a trailer that I own that is on land that I do not own which I am responsible for paying property taxes on. How does this work, is my trailer a fucking island?

The place doesn't improve anything. We have crumbling infrastructure, roads full of pot holes and cracks. We all have these MASSIVE White Ash trees towering over our 2x3 stick framed shacks. The trees are all infested with invasive Ash Borerer Beatles that make them unstable and unpredictable. These things could crush our homes like a soda can. The place has sent us out notices saying foresters were marking trees to be cut down. The marks have been on them for over a year and are still standing.

We are all working class people here and they can't even get the roads plowed and salted in time for us to go to work to pay our rent. I have many times seen people just sliding all about unable to get up the roads from the ice and snow.

The company is run by the United Way, you know, the organization that strives to fight poverty and homelessness. H.O.P.E Helping overcome poverty effects. Yeah fuck them.

They pour money into the salaries of the employees that drive fancy cars and work remotely because they can't be exposed to the covid like everybody else (not hating on remote working). When you need services you cannot reach them, only when convenient for them.

They have been buying up all the land in Addison County to build affordable housing infrastructure while neglecting ours almost entirely. They are constructing energy efficient homes by Vermod which cost around 200,000 each for something the size of a single wide trailer.

Why is our rent going up? What can I do to fight this and unite my neighbors?

Rant over.
