Varies a lot by area but it Georgetown has a few nice cafes with plenty of seating like blue bottle and Compass on Wisc avenue.

I think Georgetown and M st/Wisconsin Avenue are worth the visit, plenty of nice cafes and restaurants, some like Blue bottle have a nice view by the canals.
