Not sure about the Boston duck boats specifically, but I've heard that a lot of duck boat operators are seriously negligent when it comes to repairs and maintenance, and sometimes the modifications to make the boats in the first place aren't safe. It was awesome to do it as a kid, but I'm not sure I'd do it again after hearing that.

I don't know these areas too well. If the area in question actually results in fewer issues with surrounding residents and businesses, then maybe it's actually a good short term measure?

There is a mushroom vendor that goes to local farmers markets. Maybe the produce vendor in the Boston Public Market has some too.

This just seems like a low priority investment compared to getting the trains actually working consistently and paying conductors fairly. this is a rare accident anyway, it just doesn't seem worth it from a cost benefit perspective.
