If your sonicare is failing search youtube for a fix video. Generally the motor gets slower and dies because the magnet or the coils have come loose in the mechanism and are touching. It's a simple fix but you have to open it and you probably need a precision screwdriver set. I've had one going on a decade. had to re-gap the mechanism twice in that time.
