well i actually don’t think it’s that many. and i can’t speak for his knife purchases but my set is pretty basic. Chef’s knife, long slicer knife, paring knife, small and large serrated, peeler knife and santoku knife.
depends on what i’m doing in the kitchen but they all get good use
my partner and i put our knives in our knife blocks facing opposite directions. he is left-handed (his is the left block) and i am right handed
