Sounds counterintuitive but makes perfect sense, thank you. It's why downhill skiers are faster when they weigh more.

Apologies if already addressed, but does the weight of the projectile matter? Or does speed negate it?

I didn't know research went back that far. When I looked for studies maybe 4-5 yrs ago, I could only find one or two articles that were recent then.

(anecdotal, remove if not allowed). My Neurologist said it's possible for childhood abuse to show up in MRIs even through middle age. I read a study a few yrs ago about altered brain chemistry and suppressed immune response development in children who experienced even emotional and verbal abuse. The more research the better.

Right, I just don't see a theory posited in the study as to why, so when you brought up metabolism I scanned it again and there's no mention. Not saying it's a bad theory. I'd like to see them posit theories.

That, and "The study findings also showed that higher amounts of sitting and prolonged sitting were not associated with higher risk of mild cognitive impairment or dementia." You're right, they needed to study the subjects for at least six months.

Did I miss that correlation? Not being sarcastic. I don't see a conclusion in the study? The difference between cis gender males and females is the ratio of body fat and where it is in the body, and where the muscle is located in men vs women. I swear I thought I read that that had been disproven to have an effect on metabolic processes in men vs women, but it's been a while since I may have seen that.

Pretty sure mice aren't being feed a variety of Gerber's jarred food. Commercially made baby food is extremely varied, and mothers will try it all to see what their babies will eat. So they're developing a tolerant palette.

How personalities are or are not shaped by the cultures that people are raised in is the takeaway, I think? Why are some people able to make the leap in perspective to understanding another culture? If it's just how you're raised, then why is this possible?

I have had numerous people say that, when presented with facts. They immediately jump to "well Snopes is run by (insert political opposition), it's well known, so-and-so said so". That so called expert is always a fringe political editorialist who has said laughably false statements that can be proven as false. Snopes cites sources for every case at the bottom of the pages. And as far as my "superficial understanding of people", bold statement to make about someone you don't know. Personal attacks speculating on the experience or qualifications of someone are always a last ditch effort to stop a perceived attack. Which I did not do to you, so it's interesting that you have jumped right to that, and that you are having such an emotional reaction to my statement. Perhaps you should examine that.

I just post the Snopes link whenever I see that false info posted on Facebook. You can't argue with someone about false political info because of the emotional investment they have in the bad info. But for things like the crime prevention tips, I will post the Snopes or law enforcement link and tell people not to do whatever the tip is, because of safety. I don't see the bad info as much as I used to, thank goodness.
