Reply to Being Mortal by Atul Gawande by moneyforsoy
This book is great. Well written and very illuminating.
If you are older than 55, if you have a relative older than 55, or if you work in a helping profession you should read this book now. Everyone else can read it next week.

Reply to what's your favorite first line of a book? by nightfez
It has been a long time since I read Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger, but if I remember correctly the first line is: I don't care if you read this book.

Reply to Things there will never be cures for / technologies that will never happen? by Phoenix5869
Whether the cause is genetic or environment, there will never be a cure for stupidity. If anything, it appears that stupidity will become more common. Stupid people elect stupid people to represent them and then they all point fingers at others and call them defective and work together to assure that stupidity will survive.
