Seems a tad unsafe to be out on the water in that getup -- I imagine it would be difficult to swim if she accidentally went overboard. Yikes!

Jared Diamond talks about this at some length in Guns, Germs, and Steel. Even though I'm not a big fan of the book and its extreme thesis of environmental determinism, he makes a valid point about the Americas' handicap in not having horses, oxen, or other large domesticates for agriculture etc. It's a hell of a lot easier to plow a field and grow crops when you can strap a plow to a docile beast of burden. We don't often think about the basic problem of food in the pre-industrial emergence of complex societies, cities, and specialized craftsmen who can focus on cultural/scientific/artistic developments instead of needing to spend all their time trying not to starve.

No need to convince me, good sir. I'm American. Take it up with the Commonwealth countries :-)

This is from Australia. I believe the term 'chips' translates to 'french fries' in American

It gets better. There are a couple big reveals even in the first half of the game that I did not see coming.

Easily one of the best games I've played in the past 5 years. I went into it expecting a "merely good" Sony exclusive, but enjoyed every minute and bought the frozen wilds dlc immediately after completing the main game. Great story, great graphics, great gameplay, great mechanics. It's not revolutionary, but damn it's fun and engaging.
EDIT: p.s. Dunno your philosophy on gaming, but I played it on easy mode so that I could focus on the narrative and blow the crap out of the dino-mechs without too much stress.

Fair point, but I think it's obvious that NASA lowballs the expected lifespans in order to avoid overpromising/underdelivering to the public and to budgetary committees

I was having a 100% unsolicited conversation with a lady friend about this the other day. I've never done it, but she said it tastes like nickels... So many questions, like who puts nickels in their mouth as an adult and knows what they taste like?
