Are there many add ons to the basic care at polished dental? The last time I went to the dentist, it wasn't the annual x-ray visit and I didn't have cavities or anything. Somehow my basic visit involved $80 in addition to what insurance covers. Apparently they code the time the dental hygienist cleans your teeth separately from the dentist inspection, separate from the cleaning, so it allowed additional charges. I was a little annoyed that places are suddenly charging what used to be standard care on a dental visit, as extras.

They have some gluten free options in their Sunday brunch, but I don't know what the menu looks like on other days.

I had something similar with green energy suppliers. I did keep them for two years, because I try to be more environmentally friendly. Eventually it was just too expensive to keep paying the rising electric costs.
Maybe when I own my own house, I can put in solar panels and be more energy friendly that way.

I walked through South side and downtown during the day yesterday for various errands. I was surprised with how safe it looked and felt, because I heard and read so many bad things over the past few months. What I did notice was there are less people out and about than I remembered from a few years ago.

My highest heating bills were ten years ago, and it was electric heating. I specifically check for gas heating now and pay half what I did those ten years ago.

I agree. It's becoming more common here to pay the water and sewer. I'm paying for it for the first time after moving to a new apartment last year. But the account is kept in the landlord's name and I receive a copy to pay for my usage.

My favorite part of construction is the detours that just stop in the middle of nowhere. It always feels like someone got distracted midway through the detour set up and left it half undone. Then you're stuck using GPS to try to figure out how to get back on the right route. (And maps is unaware there is a detour so it tries to bring you right back to the closed road.)

I saw a bunch, nightly, in Pittsburgh, but it was earlier in the summer. I haven't noticed any lately.

Good to know. That's always what happened for me before, unless I had a cavity, or I have been charged for a portion of the x-rays. Getting charged so much extra for a basic visit shocked me. But then, my eye Dr now splits my visits between annual eye testing and the eye exam, so I get charged 2 copays. I was starting to think maybe this is just the new normal and how businesses are working to make more money from basic visits.
