The older I get (37, I'm not old!), the more I find the lyrics to be important to my enjoyment of a song. I get bored quickly with mindless music these days. The songs that stick with me are the ones I actually relate to.

Not by genre, but by message.

Yeah, we should just abandon all roads and shut the DOT down! Privatize everything! I can't wait to pay six tolls on my way to work each morning! Everyone loves that!

Hey, let's privatize fire departments! Then, they can jack up their rates as my house burns down instead of putting it out!

Fuck it, let's privatize the military too! Then we'll be "protected" by people who are willing to kill for money. That can't go wrong!

Privatization is fucking stupid. Private companies must make a profit. Public government agencies have to reinvest it.

It's really quite basic reason and math.

It's not about who uses the term, it's about who uses it correctly. Fascism has clear tenets and a pattern they use to rise to power. They attack media, intellectuals, and schools, erode trust in government and democratic elections, all mixed up in nationalist rhetoric like "make [nation-state] great again" and identify "other" groups to blame for that nations problems, usually queer communities and minority ethnic groups.

Do you see the pattern yet?
